Does God Hear Our Cries?

Does God hear us when we cry out to Him? Does He care? Where do I go when I’m overwhelmed and shaken? What does God’s word say about it?

For they cried to the God in the battle, and He was entreated of them; because they put their trust in Him. 1 Chr 5:20

I cried to the Lord with my voice, and He heard me out of His holy hill. Psalm 3:4

I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from my enemies. Psalm 18:3

In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God: He heard my voice out of His temple, and my cry came before Him, even into His ears. Psalm 18:6

I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4

This is an important one because it addresses that sometimes, it’s our fears and not an actual physical enemy or event that is attacking us. God delivers us from ourselves, as well as our enemies.

This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. Psalm 34:6

The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and His ears are open to their cryPsalm 34:15

The righteous cry, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Psalm 34:17

And call upon Me in the day of trouble: I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me. Psalm 50:15

As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me. Evening and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and He shall hear my voicePsalm 55:16,17

When I cry to you, then shall my enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for mePsalm 56:9

I will cry to God most high; to God that performs all things for me. He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that will swallow me up. Psalm 57:2,3

Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer, nor His mercy from me. Psalm 66:20

In the day of my trouble I will call upon You: for You will answer mePsalm 86:7

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. Psalm 91:15

Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses. Psalm 107:6

I called upon the Lord in distress: the Lord answered me, and set me in a large place. Psalm 118:5

He will be very gracious to you at the voice of your cry; when He shall hear it, He will answer you. Isaiah 30:19

And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hearIsaiah 65:24

This particular one is one of my favorites. While we’re still talking God has an answer! He is saving us before we’re even done asking for it!

Ask and it shall be given you; seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you: For everyone that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened. If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask HimMat 7:7,8,11

Again I say to you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in heaven. Matt 18:19

And all things, whatsoever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receiveMatt 21:22

And whatsoever you shall ask in My Name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you shall ask any thing in My Name, I will do it. John 14:13,14

For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be savedRom 10:13

Don’t take my word for it. God has repeatedly told you that He hears your cries and He will deliver you. Anything that tells you otherwise is the enemy’s voice. Cry out to the Lord, He will hear you, and He will deliver you.
